The Romanesca

This is another episode of the project Early Music Sources. This episode is dedicated to the Romanesca, one of the most widely known bass sequences in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

I found this video very interesting since there are quite a lot of versions for this sequence presented throughout the episode, after a clear analysis of its various forms. There is a page of footnotes for further study.
