My Music Editions in “Dias da Música”

Since I began editing music for Edições MPMP – mostly in the “Polyphonia” series – published by Movimento Patrimonial pela Música Portuguesa (mpmp) in late 2012, they were featured in their stand at “Dias da Música” a sort-of-“La Folle Journée” that takes place every year in the end of April at Centro Cultural de Belém (Lisbon). It is by far Portugal’s most important musical event, with continuous concerts and the participation almost all Portuguese musical organizations.

For me it is quite an honour to have my editions available to the public. I have now edited over 30 works for the “Polyphonia” series that have been available during the 2013, 2014, 2015 and this year’s edition of “Dias da Música”. It is important to state that Movimento Patrimonial pela Música Portuguesa has been one of the scarce organizations that publish music in Portugal to have dedicated some attention to Portuguese polyphony, being very grateful for their support of my work. My contributions  to the “Polyphonia” series have focused mostly in the works of composers from Évora Cathedral, with new editions of music by Filipe de Magalhães, Duarte Lobo, Manuel Cardoso, Estêvão Lopes Morago, Estêvão de Brito, Diogo Dias Melgaz and even Manuel Mendes and Matheo d’Aranda. They can be found at the Music edition page of Edições MPMP
