Paper at III FLAUTUÉ

No próximo dia 19 de Março, pelas 14h00, irei apresentar uma comunicação no painel de conferências intitulado “A Flauta na paisagem sonora histórica de Évora”. Este painel decorre no âmbito do III FLAUTUÉ – Festival de Flauta Transversal, que se realiza de 19 a 21 de Março no Colégio Mateus d’Aranda, Universidade de Évora.

A comunicação, intitulada “A Flauta em Évora nos séculos XVI e XVII: Ocorrências nos contextos sacros”, centra-se na actividade musical na Catedral de Évora e as referências à participação da flauta na actividade musical da capela. As referências são escassas e muito vagas, porém, partindo de outros contextos pretende-se levantar algumas hipóteses de como seria essa prática musical na Catedral.

I’ll be reading a paper next March 19th, 14h00, in the conference panel “The Flute in the historical soundscape of Évora”. This panel appears in the III FLAUTUÉ – Transverse Flute Festival at College Mateus d’Aranda, University of Évora.

The paper, entitled “The Flute in Évora in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries: Occurrences in the sacred contexts, centres in the musical activity of Évora Cathedral and the references to the participation of the flute in the chapel’s activity. The references are scarce and vague, however, departing from other contexts I intend to raise some hypotheses of how this musical practice would be in the Cathedral.
